I am a self taught artist living and working in Teignmouth Devon. My work is very varied ranging from working in traditional oils /watercolours/acrylic paints, to using recycled materials where-ever I can. I love to create a sense of atmosphere and emotion, and to portray what I was feeling whilst creating a certain piece. It’s all about inviting the viewer into my world and sharing my emotions about that given subject.
I am lucky enough to be able to live in beautiful part of the world and am never in any shortage of inspiration.
Even the school-run is bliss!
My other passion is painting people especially their portraits. Peoples faces are no end of fascination to me, the different expressions giving away their feelings and emotions, involuntarily in most cases, they really are like reading a good novel! Everyone has a story to tell and an opinion to voice. This is something that is so important for me, to get the person across in a realistic “warts and all” approach.
I like to paint my subjects in acrylics and oil, but I also use the computer, hand drawing my
images using a tablet and pen.
