DROP-IN WORKSHOP AND PERFORMANCE: GONGS AND SINGING BOWLS
Sunday 24 August, workshops 3pm, performance 4pm

The Centre for Contemporary Art and the Natural World has invited Soundz Magic, founded by Martyn Rudin, to offer a workshop (from 3pm) with Himalayan singing bowls and gongs on Sunday 24th August near its Project Space in Haldon Forest Park - open to all!
The workshop will lead up to a performance at 4pm to create a great sound emanating throughout Haldon Forest to mark the hand-over of the Olympics to London from Beijing!
TALK: WOODWORKING IN SCOTLAND AND JAPAN
Tuesday 26 August, 6-7pm

Graeme Murray and Lise Bratton talk on traditional and contemporary woodworking in Scotland and Japan. They compare their experience of working at the Woodschool, Ancrum, Scotland with a visit to Oak Village, Gifu, Japan, both providing studios and display spaces for makers, artists and designers within a sustainable and ecological practice.

Following the success of 2007’s 5 Ways to Walk Towards Yourself movement workshop, international choreographer Angus Balbernie and dance artist Rosalyn Maynard bring you Soma:Terra: Para, five days of guided forays into body, mind and landscape, exploring the interactive complexities of nature and performance and culminating in personal and shared showings. For artists and students from body-based and other disciplines.
EXHIBITION: WONDER WOOD
Inspirational Contemporary Designers from the South West

Wonder Wood is the climax of a series of exhibitions in a year-long Wood Culture festival which has celebrated the beauty, usefulness and sustainability of wood and explored its many uses in contemporary architecture and design.The exhibition draws on the work of 20 designers in wood across the South West region, from established makers to this year’s graduates, ranging from innovative steam-bent seating to a woven boat and a timber bicycle. Most work is for sale.
HALDON FOREST PARK WORKSHOPS: HALDON JUNIOR RANGERS
Tuesdays & Thursdays, 29 July-26 August, 1.30pm-4pm
Ages 8-12 years. Children £12 per session, or 5 sessions for £50.
